Mama’s Story
Growing up in a small town, a good Friday Fish Fry was as much a staple as ice cream on a hot July afternoon or hot cocoa following a foray into the freshly fallen snow. In those younger years, my mother and grandmother bestowed many lessons to me in the kitchen - very few of them born of a written recipe. Everything was brought together with a bit of risk, a great deal of care, and a heaping portion of love.
At the age of 22, I began my adventures in the service industry, starting as a server and cook. As my experience grew, so did my opportunities to expand my responsibilities, eventually serving as the general manager of some of the region's top restaurant chains. A few decades later, I'm blessed to be doing what I love in my very own diner.
The Mama's staff and I aim to please with great food at reasonable prices, served with a smile in a clean and cozy environment. It excites me to no end to fill bellies and share gratitude with my guests each day. There is a little something for everyone here at Mama's Cafe. We look forward to the opportunity to get to know you soon!
